Dr. Naomi Edelson is a licensed psychologist with a Doctorate and a Masters degree in clinical psychology and is a licensed psychologist in the states of California and Colorado. With a career spanning 15 years, Dr. Edelson has expertise in treating chronic pain, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD,) anxiety and mood disorders, health anxiety, pelvic pain conditions, and other women’s health and parenting concerns. Dr. Edelson is a graduate of the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute and employs evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to deliver transformative care.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Edelson is the Director of Psychological Services and site director for the Stanford University based KP Empower study, which compares ways to help patients who take prescription opioids reduce health risks without increasing their pain. She has a unique expertise in medically unexplained conditions, such as CFS, brain fog, IBS etc. She additionally has expertise in the treatment of women’s pelvic pain conditions, including general pain in the pelvic region and pain with sex and was the pelvic pain psychologist at San Francisco in the clinic of Dr. Jen Gunter. She is a regular speaker at Grand Rounds. Dr. Edelson volunteered in Bosnia and Croatia (‘97, ‘98, ‘99) providing conflict resolution training to children survivors of the war in the former Yugoslavia. She feels passionately about the intersection between mental and physical health.

Personal Life and Interests

Dr. Edelson lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two children. She loves to travel and has spent several years living in France with her family. She also is an avid gardener and someday hopes to become a better cook.
